As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk at PTA Plastics, what are your daily responsibilities? What impact does your role have on our customers?

I am one of the team members of the Shipping and Receiving department at our Oxford facility in Connecticut. Being in the Shipping and Receiving department is a very active role - from picking product from the shelves and prepping for shipment to processing the orders out of our system. It is never a dull moment! We work closely with all the departments here at PTA to ensure getting product out to our customers, whether it’s a sample from one of our Project Mangers or Production to Finishing and Molding; we get the job done. Receiving-in consumables for Finishing or Molding is also an important step in my job to ensure we get items out to our customers. I have also been lucky enough to become a part of our ESOP committee to make a greater impact on the culture here at PTA!

What is your favorite part about working at PTA Plastics and why?

I started out as an Operator in Molding, moved on to Finishing and then up to where I am now in the Shipping and Receiving department. Throughout my years at PTA, my favorite part about working here is the relationships I have formed with the people I work with. I have formed relationships here with co-workers that feel more like family. I appreciate them and the teamwork that we do to benefit our Employee-Owned company and the support system I have built with all of them outside of PTA.

Tell us something that people might not know about you.

When I am not busy at work, you can find me either hiking all over Connecticut or camping in New England somewhere with my husband and our two beautiful daughters. You can also find me on the back of our Harley cruising back roads! I also went to a Vocational Agri-Science school located in Woodbury, CT studying agricultural mechanics which is where my husband and I met.
