We have worked with almost every plastic resin in the industry. Applications using engineering resins such as polycarbonate, nylon, ABS, PC/ABS blends, polyester, acetal and reinforced grades are our specialty.

With over 50 years experience in plastic injection molding and structural foam molding, we know the importance of smart people and processes that ensure quality and save customers time and money. Our unique 1-piece flow production cells eliminate costly and inefficient transferring to warehouse. Parts can be molded and have post-molding operations and final inspection before they even leave the floor. Should any problems develop, they can be identified immediately and corrected. PTA Plastics has 30 molding presses that range from 30 to 1375 ton capacity. Most are equipped with robots and can be operated around the clock. Each injection mold run has its own unique job-book record containing production history, Quality Plan, mold set-up and processing details. This is just one way that we ensure the consistent production of plastic parts that meet the most stringent quality requirements.

PTA’s quality system is ISO certified and we are a UL approved molder. Creative functionality.

Overmolding continues to be an attractive option because of the functional flexibility it affords product designer and engineers. More often than not, the applications we see require a soft (elastomeric) skin bonded to a rigid substrate in products requiring a soft feel, vibration dampening or product protection. Overmolding has been widely used in higher volume applications where the cost of the specialized tooling, automation and molding equipment can be easily amortized.

However, most of our customer’s applications are low to medium volume and cannot support the premiums associated with the specialized tooling and equipment . Our tooling and molding strategy coupled with unparalleled design and engineering feedback have provided PTA and our customer’s success on hundreds of overmolding applications without the onerous upfront costs and extended lead times.
